Weather Alert: Potential Tropical Cyclone for Sint Maarten, Saba, and Sint Eustatius (July 28, 2020)

Event: Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine

The Government of Sint Maarten and Government of the Netherlands have issued Tropical Storm Warnings for Sint Maarten, Saba, and Sint Eustatius in anticipation of Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine currently located 510 miles east southeast of the Leeward Islands moving west. Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine is expected to reach tropical storm strength on Tuesday evening or Wednesday.

Actions to Take:

  • Monitor the local news for updates.
  • Avoid entering the sea as the storm may produce life threatening surf and rip current conditions.
  • Visit the Facebook pages for the Governments of Sint Maarten, Saba, and Sint Eustatius to follow the latest updates and receive directions from local officials.
