Location: Curacao
Event: The security situation in Curacao continues to be unpredictable after nightfall. Unannounced demonstrations have occurred the past two nights that have included the burning and destruction of property and the blocking of traffic and bridges.
U.S. government personnel and U.S. citizens are strongly advised to shelter in place before 7:00pm regardless of whether the Government of Curacao issues a curfew. This guidance is effective beginning Friday, June 26 through the evening of Sunday, June 28, 2020.
Actions to Take:
- Shelter in place before 7:00pm.
- Avoid crowds.
- Avoid demonstrations.
- Monitor local media for updates.
- Be aware of your surroundings.
- Keep a low profile.
- Review your personal security plans.
