Renewal of Adult U.S. Passports by Mail
U.S. citizens residing in the Dutch Caribbean may choose to renew their U.S. passport by mail in lieu of coming to the U.S. Consulate in Curaçao in person. In order to qualify for renewal of a U.S. passport by mail, applicants must meet all criteria.
The U.S. Consulate General in Curacao uses DHL only to return U.S. passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad to applicants. It is the applicant’s responsibility to pay for and request that DHL send an airway bill with tracking number to the Consulate immediately after the passport or Consular Report of Birth Abroad interview.
Third party attendance at interviews
Generally, immediate family members may accompany passport or CRBA applicants to their appointment interviews at a U.S. embassy or consulate, and all minor children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Passport or CRBA applicants also have the option of being accompanied by an attorney at their appointment interview.
